Finally the “Saloon of CN” section in our blog becomes active again. With the next interviews, you’ll be able to stay closer to us as if you were here with us! In the previous article, we promised you something: we want you to know better our productive process, so… let’s start with Luca Colombo! Don’t you know who he is? Find it out with us!
Hi Luca, introduce yourself to the readers!
Hello, i’m Luca and i’m an architect. I’ve been working here since last year, but i’ve been working with furnishings since i had started my career. I’ve always had this passion and i think it won’t change!
What do you do in CN?
Good question. In CN i do several things… where someone needs, Luca comes! My principal task concerns the quotation department and the thechnical department. Regarding the quotation department, i preparare the offers for the clients, everything they need. Regarding the technical department, i have to supply the raw materials, from glass to wood, from metal to tissues: i try to find everything that CN needs.
How can you explain the quotation in detail?
The main goal of our quotation department is to estimate with certain costs, so that we can offer the chiepest price to the client, according to his requests. To do that, we start from the selection of materials relating to the available budget of the clients. I mean: according to their availability, we make a specific choice and not another one. In addiction, we use an excel file calibrated on production/company costs that derive from analysis and report of the management control. More simply: we try to generate the quotation in the best way. We want it to be accurate and reliable.
What do you like about your job?
The main thing i love about my job is to be always in connection with the furniture world: not only abstractly, but especially concretely. In the moment i see the idea realized, i understand that my job is useful. This is the the greatest satisfation!
And…What is really difficult about your job?
I think the most complicated thing is to manage the client. I have to understand his needs, what he wants. Anyway… i believe it’s not unusal that this kind of difficulties appears: we are talking about the furniture world, one of the largest. We have problems when we have to go shopping and to choose beetwen 20 types of pasta… imagine when we have to choose how to create, structure and finish a furniture!
I think we all agree with you! And…Have you ever do anything different in your life?
I started my working life as a project architect, than i became a commercial technician and now i’m interested in the quotation department and the thechnical department. But as i told you before, always in the furniture world.
And to sum up… if you had to say what is the strenght of CN, what would you say?
It’s hard to choose only one aspect… Certainly, the versatility is our main strenght! CN can offer a large range of productions and products. The company wants to follow this line of thought becuse it wants to satisfy every needs of the client and, to do that, you can’t be too rigid.
Related to the versatility, another strenght is the ability to follow the client from the A to the Z, from the beginning to the end of the production flow, keeping always in mind the high quality of the product.
Thank you Luca, see you soon!
And with all of you, we’ll keep in touch with the next article.
